Sony shows off motion controller By Maggie Shiels Technology reporter, BBC News, GDC, San Francisco Sony says the Move is more precise and responsive than other controllers Sony has unveiled its contender to the market leading Nintendo Wii with its new motion-control video system called PlayStation Move.Details were revealed during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The wand-like device uses motion controllers and the PlayStation eye camera to track body movements. "We'd like to think of this as the next generation of motion gaming," said Sony's marketing boss Peter Dille. "We are confident that when we look back in five years time, this will be seen as a seminal moment for PlayStation." While crediting the Wii with doing a "great job in introducing motion gaming to the masses", Mr Dille said the Move has the "potential to take gaming beyond where it is today".
