Red Knights’ plan to buy Manchester United receives Ferguson boost Main man: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has given the Red Knights consortium more hope Photo: GETTY IMAGES As sources for the consortium confirmed that they had received indicative pledges of financial support totalling £1.5 billion, Ferguson declined to attack their plans, saying they were entitled to protest against the Glazers. “I’ve no issue with the Red Knights.
